Release Notes NPrinting v.11

You need to personalize report names so that people know what information they’re looking at, when it was produced and what it refers to. With NPrinting, Excel and QlikView reports can be generated with dynamic names so that you can give your reports the names you need. We’ve added a number of different parameters which are dynamic, static and user defined depending on how you need to name your reports.

Excel and QlikView report names can now include:

• The date the report was generated
• The time the report was generated
• The name of the recipient of the report
• The Cycle field values
• The value of one or more QlikView variable
• The NPrinting report name

If you need to be able to change the directory where reports are saved based on fixed and dynamic parameters, then this version of NPrinting has a feature which will resolve the issue. With the dynamic output path feature, you can save reports to a different directory according to criterea you set which can be both user defined, static and dynamic.

Parameters you can set include:

•     A custom path
•     The Recipient name
•     The value of a QlikView variable
•     The default output folder
•     The Recipient output folder

When importing recipients to NPrinting, you want to be able to set a number of attributes. With this version of NPrinting, not only can you load recipients with delivery information, you can also generate recipient filters with as many fields and as many field values as you like. You can also associate recipients with existing filters, remove existing filters from recipients and put recipients into distribution groups so that they will immediately start receiving the information they need in the format they need when they need it.

Recipient imports now have the following features:

• Import recipient name, e-mail address, encryption ID, path and subfolder
• Create Recipient filters with an unlimited number of fields and field values
• Set filter parameters including Select Excluded, Verify Filter and Unlock if locked
• Set the connection for the filter
• Automatically put Recipients into distribution groups
• Add any existing filter to the recipient
• Remove existing filters from recipients
• Remove recipients from groups

NPrinting gives you the flexibility of distributing reports in a number of formats. We’ve now added a number of Image formats to give you a broader selection of options to choose from. In addition to Excel and PDF, we’ve added .jpg. .tiff, .png and a number of other formats. Files in Excel, PDF and TIFF formats will generate a single file for each report while other formats will generate a separate file for each page of output.

All reports can now be generated in the following formats:

• PDF
• JPG
• PNG
• TIFF
• EPS
• BMP

NPrinting allows you to create separate reports for each value of a field; now this feature allows you to use as many fields as you like. A file will be created for all of the possible combinations of all of the values of all of the fields that you choose. These values will be put into the name of the report as well.

The NPrinting service can now execute schedules from multiple NPrinting .nsq files.
If one Schedule is running and a second one is triggered, it will be queued and executed after the first one finishes.
